Possible to import folders from one hotmail account to another?

i'm closing one hotmail account but wish to import folders into the new one, possible?

Hotmail, not being a POP3 email service, has your folders of info stored on their servers and not on your hard drive... so you wouldn't be able to export a folder and then import it into another account......... But, since Hotmail is free you could open up your new mail account, then go back to the old one and forward each item in the content of a folder to your new email address....then just a matter of creating a folder and moving the sent mail into that folder.....





Of course, you could forward any of the emails saved in that folder to any other email account and then once you open a new Hotmail account, again forward those transferred emails to the new Hotmail account.....





If the mail was stored on your hard drive, then a matter of exporting the folder to your desktop and importing it when you have the new account.... but with server based email programs, you don't have that luxury and must resort to mailing to yourself at a different account name.......





I infrequently use my Hotmail account, but sometimes just to save info safely I forward my own emails from yahoo to Hotmail...that way have access if either site is down when I need that saved info, and it is backed up on seperate servers that way......... Best wishes and Happy 'Puterin
