I am assuming that you are referring to the web-based email offered by Microsoft. In that case, I don't think you have to do anything. When the old Hotmail changes to the new Windows Live Mail it will also change your contacts with it.

If you have forgotten your yahoo password and you cannot provide the same information you gave during registration or when you last updated your account. Without the correct verification information, sorry but you will not be able to obtain a new password. If there were a easy fix it would be open to abuse from hackers.

You could take your business somewhere else.
If hotmail isn't secure enough for you, as it's not your system there is very little you can do... apart from (to quote Lenin) vote with your feet.
Reply:- Always update your anti virus program. There are weekly updates of virus and your anti virus definitions should be using the latest DAT files containig recent virus discoveries.
- Make sure you have an anti spy ware program installed on your computer. This program should check if you have malicious files that could sniff your personal information.
- Do not open e-mail messages of unknown sender. Be wary as well of opening e-mail attachments. I prefer not to open attachments from an unknown sender especially if it is not picture files.

No to be honest i think once you've deleted it it will have gone. You could check your trash option to see if its in there but i think that hotmail deletes the trash every 30 days. Sorry.

I'm no computer guru....the only way I can think of is to "forward" them to your new account. On my account, I can put a check mark by each selected email, then click "forward" then type in your new email address. O
nce they are sent to you, you can put themin whatever Hotmail folder you wish.
I hope that helps...like I said, I'm not a techy...but that's how I do it when I need to switch (I have 2 email accounts..one for personal and one for school).

Why do I have to sign into my hotmail account twice before it accepts the password??
Do you have any idea what the problem could be?? I'm typing it correctly (I can even copy and paste and it will work the second time) Also the problem exists for other hotmail accounts on same computer. The hotmail techinical support has not been helpful. Please help.

That is a tough question.
my suggestion would be to make sure the remember user/password box is unchecked.
Then run disk clean up in the start / all programs / accessories / system tools disk clean up. Then restart your computer
Sometimes the computer remembers things it should not. I hope this helps

Please remember that passwords are case sensitive, so if when you first created your password, you wrote it all in caps, then you have to do the same thing every time you sign into your account. Try typing your password first in lower case letters. If that doesn't work, try all caps. If that still doesn't work, click forget password? and follow the prompts from there. Good luck!

Because of the fact they know libraries don't get into the keep your comp safe, also they know MANY diferent people sign in to their mail and banking accounts.
I heard of hackers programming library computers because alot of people check their mail on it and they have the passwords to all. ESPECIALLY online bank accounts.
and some of the library users are hackers getting it hooked up via the Internet.

Reply:You don't cancel an acct. You just stop using it and after a while it becomes inactive and hotmail will close it for non use. Not sure the time frame or how long that it takes for them to close it out after a period of time of non use of that acct.

Don't listen to the rubbish answer above. This is possible, you can retrieve any e-mail after you have sent it as long as the receiver hasn't already opened it. This is handy (for example) if you send a dirty e-mail to your instead of your partner!!! (or for whatever reason:)
Unfortunately I can only tell you how to do this in Outlook (this is the only e-mail client I really use) If you are using outlook, open the sent message, click actions %26amp; "Recall this message". Simple as that!
This is 100% possible with every other e-mail provider too eg. yahoo, hotmail etc. but I could not tell you how as I don't use any of these :)

How do I get into my hotmail(live) account?
I type in my e-mail address and password and it won't let me in. I tried to make a new account but it recognizes that I'm already in the system. I tried troubleshooting options (deleting cookies, etc.). I can log onto the messenger and preview my mail, but can't actually sign into through there, either. I can access anything else but the hotmail account. I can get into the account through another computer, but there isn't any administrator issues etc., with mine. Why won't it let me in?

yes if you have a yahoo account. webmessenger accepts only 2 addresses. a hotmail account and a yahoo. but if you're gonna delete hotmail, you can still use your yahoo to log-in. im using both accounts right now.

You can't go to the police over an internet or email connection, unless the thief is making visible threats against your life, property or your family. He has you scared, though, doesn't he?! He's a bully, obviously. Just be very careful who you give your email address to, and keep a very watchful eye on your account. Open an account under your maiden name or the name of a relative, so if you see something that doesn't look right, you can quickly transfer your mail and addresses then close the account immediately.
