How to delete old hotmail account?

I have got a hotmail address that i dont want at all now as ive set up messenger on my internet providers email address...i have tried to delete my old hotmail account but i can still log in to it?

Just ignore the hotmail account and after 3 month, it is automatically become inactive and will finally deleted.
Reply:Don't use it for 6 months. Don't log into it. I think they will suspend it after 60 days of inactivity and than delete it after 180 days.

Reply:The above answer are correct but you can always keep it for junk mail purposes and use that address for anything that requires you to subscribe online. For example, if you subscribe to read the news or listen to music on a particular website, you can use that address for registration. In effect, consider it a "throw away" account. You can also use it for storage and forward important emails to yourself as well.





I have an account such as that. I use it for registration to a local radio station to compete in their contests. Any email I get that isn't from the radio station I just trash without opening.
