On my Macintosh computer can i set up my Mac mail with my hotmail account?

Mac Mail will allow you to set up multiple accounts, including any webmail account that has POP3 or IMAP access.





Hotmail does not offer POP3 or IMAP access.





Gmail offers not only POP3, but IMAP as well!





Y7mail and yahoo mail offer POP3 access





This has nothing to do with whether you use a Mac or a PC

Other than paying for hotmail to have POP3 working, you also can try to use MacFreePops Software to download your email from hotmail to your mac mail client.





however, the limitation of this software is that it only works for email without attachment. But give it a try, and it is freeware.
Reply:Yes, i know it is definitely possible but you would have to pay for it. Hotmail is supported by the advertisements all around it so they want you to keep you visiting the website.





Your best bet would be to sign up for gmail. They will give you unlimited server space for free and you can set up your account in Apple mail.

Reply:Some of the other answers will give you a solution, yes, but this is probably the easiest: Just download the httpmail plug-in from versiontracker.com (I've put a link as my source). After installing that, all you need to do is:





1. Open Preferences from the Mail menu


2. Click on the Accounts tab


3. Click the "+" in the lower left corner


4. Follow the steps (choosing HTTPMail for Account Type fills in the server stuff, leaving you just to put in your mail address and password)
